Altered Tag Tin

While attending a creative retreat last month in Wisconsin with 22 girlfriends, my dear friend Lana, who schleped me, and I stopped by an Archivers on our way to the airport.
Archivers is a paper crafter's dream store come to reality. While in this dreamland I picked up (among other things!) a few metal tins reminiscent of Band-Aid tins from yesteryear. Only with handles...and pristine white...(blank tin can be seen in the photo background)
Upon returning home I proceeded to alter a tin using Ranger's alcohol inks, mulberry paper, a bottle cap and a chipboard letter, among other things. I opted to paint the lid black with acrylic paint, sealing with Ranger's new Matte Accents.
This will make an fabulous storage container for my very dressy tags, which I will adorn onto simply wrapped packages of kraft paper and natural white string ties.
For in-depth how-tos regarding Ranger's Adirondak alcohol inks I highly recommend Tim Holtz's second DVD, An Altered Journey Continued.

The beauty of this tin is only surpassed by the tags within! (wow, that sounds so profound!)

I just want to comment on how big Cindy's eyes were once she stepped into her very first Archivers (THEY WERE HUGE)! The funniest part was finding Kendra and Michelle (from Indiana) in there!!!!!! That was a blast Cindy!

Your stuff just makes me gasp in delight. Always. Beautiful, beautiful. And I still think that background would be perfection as my stamp room counter!
LOVE IT!
